November is Celebrate Architecture & Design
This month-long series of activities was created to promote public awareness and appreciation of architecture and design within our community. EVENTS INCLUDE SandBlast, a variety of lectures hosted by FIU, UM & MDC, tours of noteworthy buildings and cruise ships and our sensational Design Awards Gala.
Golf Tournament
In its 20th year and with a Cinco de Mayo theme, the AIA Miami Golf Tournament promises to be even better in 2013! The tournament offers a wonderful opportunity to spend the day with industry professionals.
Design & Technology Exposition (DTE2013)
DTE is an annual products and vendor exhibition with a large selection of continuing education seminars. Several hundred industry professionals attend the annual two-day event.
Architects in the Making (AIM) Summer Camp
More than 65 children from throughout Miami-Dade County participate in the popular summer camp and may indeed be inspired to become tomorrow’s architects. The students work together at the UM School of Architecture studios, where they have classes in sustainability and green architecture, historic preservation, principles of design and even Revit computer design. They will also practice what they learned, by creating hand-drawn and computer designs and models.
